NCPC Virtual Lunch & Learn: Navigating Digital Inclusion: An Introduction to Web Accessibility Best Practices

Tuesday, January 30th from 12:00-1:00 PM (EST)
FREE to all NCPC Members!
Non-NCPC Members $10

Ensuring digital accessibility is crucial for universal arts access. Currently, the DoJ has proposed Title II regulations on digital communication based on WCAG (2) standards to ensure digital accessibility for all state and local government entities, including schools and universities. These measures are in the comment period and may become effective in the next 12-18 months, aiming to make digital content accessible for all people with disabilities. (More information about the WCAG (2) standards can be found HERE. More information about the DoJ’s pending regulation can be reviewed HERE.)

With a focus on inclusive design and content creation, NCPC in partnership with Ablr, is committed to supporting arts organizations within and beyond North Carolina through the process of becoming digitally accessible. We hope that you’ll join our virtual lunch and learn workshop for insights on achieving full digital accessibility for your organization's content.

Topics to be covered:

  • What does it mean to be digitally accessible and why is it important to ensure arts access for all?

  • WCAG (2) overview

  • Five things organizations can do NOW to become more accessible

  • How can Ablr and NCPC support your organization

  • Question & Answer session

A meeting link will be emailed to all registrants the day before the event.

This project is funded in part by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
