Derina Harvey BandMain Stage | Showcase Spot B1
The award-winning Celtic Rock group, the Derina Harvey Band (dHb) wowed the audience with their Juried showcase at the 2024 Arts Northwest Conference. With a show that offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as originals, Derina's vibrant personality takes center stage with humour, storytelling, and, of course, her powerful vocals. That voice earned her a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for "Contemporary Singer of the Year". dHb has been likened to a "rockier" version of Canada's Great Big Sea, if fronted by Adele. The group took home the 2024 East Coast Music Award for "Fans' Choice Entertainer of the Year", and was also nominated for a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for "New/Emerging Artist of the Year". The accolades are deserved, as this Celtic Rock sensation offers a high-energy live show that leaves audiences hollering from their seats. The band's streaming numbers on Spotify (and other platforms) have gone through the roof (over 100 million streams on Spotify and counting!) due to a TikTok video that went viral featuring one of the band's signature songs, and, as a result, more and more people all over the world are becoming die-hard fans of the band. Photo Credit: Jeff Fasano FROM CHINA TO APPALACHIA creates a unique fusion of music with American Roots music and Chinese classical music traveling an imaginary road from China to Appalachia in a blended family. GRAMMY® Award winning American Roots artists Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer join with Chinese virtuoso Chao Tian with vocals and instruments including yangqin, five-string banjo, ukulele, guitars, dumbek, cello-banjo, gourd banjo, sibao and mandolin. Songs are in both Chinese and English. Performances often include a crankie with seventy feet of original artwork by Chao that accompany the Chinese song, "Legend of the White Snake." The group was born of a friendship and mutual love of musical exploration experienced in jam sessions that inspired a show speaking to the power of music to connect cultures. The trio toured via Mid-Atlantic Tours in 2023-2024 and has been on the road since from California to North Carolina, New England, Canada and China. Their debut self-titled album topped both the folk radio charts and Billboard bluegrass charts. Performances include The Library of Congress, Music Center at Strathmore (MD), MerleFest (NC), Mid-Tennessee State University, Winnipeg Folk Festival (CA), Mountain Stage (NPR) and the Torrance Cultural Arts Center (CA). Jazz Heals Humanity — Worldwide. The Myrna Clayton Experience featuring America's Songbird. What happens when jazz meets the world? You get America's Songbird Myrna Clayton. Commissioned by the U.S. State Department as a Cultural Ambassador, Myrna has performed across five continents — in concert halls, embassy ballrooms, and cultural centers from Russia to Ghana, Guatemala to Germany — representing American music where it matters most. Audiences rise to their feet. Languages disappear. Humanity remains. Jazz Heals Humanity — Worldwide is a music-led journey through the healing power of jazz — Standards, Bebop, Contemporary, and Smooth — woven together with stories from the stages of the world. Myrna and The Myrna Clayton Experience don't just perform jazz. They use it to do what jazz has always done: dissolve distance, reveal commonality, and remind us that joy is a language every human being already speaks. This is a program for audiences who want to feel something — and for presenters who believe that the arts, at their best, are not entertainment. They are medicine. Featured at the PAE Juried Showcase. Six-city tour of historic Georgia theatres. State Department performances at U.S. Embassies worldwide. Where the music plays — the world gets smaller. And humanity is felt. Represented By: Jes "JC" Christoff | BridgeWell International Cultural Exchange Jon Lehrer Dance CompanyMain Stage | Showcase Spot B4
